Great Weekend!

MAMMA MIA!!!! If you haven't seen this yet, then I advise you to go before it hits the dollar theaters. The sound track is awesome, and it just won't sound as good at the dollar show. However, I may go again once it hits them! We really enjoyed it...although I kept sneaking glances at Don, trying to decide if it was just too Chick Flicky for him! He says that he liked it though! We both loved the sound track, and I'm going to use some of my birthday money and go and buy it...maybe tonight.

Friday night, after the movie, we went to Don's sister Maureen's daughters reception. It was at this cool church on Yale Avenue here in SLC. A lot of general authorities attend it...and get this! There is actually a beautiful water feature in the back of it, with beautiful stonework and grounds. Aubrey and her hubby attended the singles ward there, and so were able to use the grounds. I guess that they are pretty stingy with it, and you have to go there. It was just amazing!

I went Saturday morning and spent time with Jenny at her school. She put glittery gel toes on my toes, and clear gel on my fingernails. (It doesn't add length to the nails...only if you put on tips, which I did not.) She says that it should strengthen my nails, and if I don't like it, I can just file it off. It was a fun morning, and I enjoyed being with her.

Saturday night we went to Deer Valley, to watch the Utah Symphony outdoors, with their guest performers from Broadway musicals. The music was outstanding! The atmosphere was so awesome! We took up a picnic dinner, and sat on our blankets, and watched. It was very romantic! This rounds up my birthday gifts from Don. I sure was spoiled from him, that is for sure! I think that we will try and go to Deer Valley every year, because it was sooooo cool. (and yes, COLD once the sun went down! We took our jackets and I took an extra blanket to put on.)
And the fun ending to it, was that my sister Julie and Bob were there too...although we just ran into them at the end of the evening. Small world!

Sunday night an ex employee of Don's, brought his wife and 5 kids over for dessert. We had fun visiting with them, and getting to know them better. Their kids sure had a lot of energy (ages 5-13), and we spent the night outside the house, letting them run and play. Aaron Brown and his wife Shannon, live in Highland, and he has kept in contact with Don, since the late 1980's. It was fun to meet them and get acquainted more with them.

That's our busy weekend...we never seem to be still very much. I think it helps us to not feel like the empty nesters that we are. We miss having kids in our home...but not enough to do something about it! lol...we are toooooo old for that!

Thanks for checking in, and have a great week!
